Welcome to our rubric, all of you readers!
Racana Brawijaya Public Relations Rubric certainly discusses interesting information about Pandega Scouting and other exciting things.
On this occasion, the Racana Brawijaya Public Relations Rubric wanted to share one of the excitement of the Racana Brawijaya UKM program, Home Sweet Home. Home Sweet Home or commonly referred to as HSH is a form of activity that aims to glue the members of Racana Brawijaya. By holding this activity it is hoped that members of Racana Brawijaya can increase empathy, mutual understanding, high loyalty and of course make Racana Brawijaya a solid organization. So the series of events was conceptualized by incorporating family elements such as, outbound games, eating together, sharing idea or info, making fire , PPGD and mangrove planting. Why is there a need for mangrove planting? whereas this event aims to adhere to the members.
Although this activity aims to bring together fellow members of Racana Brawijaya, HSH also invites to increase awareness of the environment. As a Scout who loves nature and compassion among humans, Racana Brawijaya takes the example of planting mangroves in the beach area. Racana Brawijaya chose the activity of planting mangroves not without reason, but the HSH activity was held at one of the beaches in Malang district. Because we have used the beach, instead we also have to take care and maintain the beach so that it remains good. From this HSH activity, Racana Brawijaya will share some information about planting mangroves that are good and right.
As we know, mangrove plants function primarily as a deterrent to abrasion and erosion (erosion of soil) in the coastal areas. Besides mangrove plants are also useful as a place of life and food for fish and other marine biota. Mangrove plants or can be called mangroves are also beneficial to humans, if there is a wave of sea water or a tsunami of mangrove plants can inhibit and reduce the frequency of sea water waves. Mangrove ecosystems can be said as plants that are vulnerable to damage. Reporting from the website (https://katadata.co.id/berita/2018/09/20/50-hutan-bakau-rusakluhuttargetkanrehabilitasi-rampung-7-tahun) Deputy for Natural Resources and Services Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs Agung Kuswandono said Indonesia has a vast mangrove forest. About 23% of the world’s mangrove forests are in Indonesia, of the total mangrove forests in the world, 23% of them are in Indonesia. But since 2015, more than 50% of Indonesia’s mangrove forests have been damaged. Therefore, planting mangrove trees is highly recommended to improve mangrove ecosystems.
There are several stages to plant mangroves, the first of which is seeding (making seedlings). After that, we determine the suitable place for planting the raw. Then proceed with making a hole that serves to plant mangrove seeds. The distance between making holes is 1 meter apart. Next, plant mangrove seedlings in the ground that has been perforated until the roots can be well planted. When planting mangrove seeds, do not press too much on the soil so that oxygen can freely enter and exit the soil. After that, plug the tall wood about the size of a mangrove seedling, then tie the mangrove seedlings together with the raffia rope. This method is useful for keeping mangrove seedlings from falling when exposed to waves or wind. In planting mangrove trees Mangrove planting can be said to be successful if the mangrove seedlings have a fresh green color and the addition of new leaf buds. Conversely, mangrove planting fails when the dead mangrove seedlings are marked with, the leaves dry, wilted or yellow in color, and no new shoots grow.
So this is our experience in applying the second darma which was wrapped in the Home Sweet Home Racana Brawijaya. Through this Home Sweet Home program, it teaches us that humans as social beings cannot live alone, we need the help of others, too. In addition we must also be aware that nature provides everything for us, so we must also maintain and preserve it. Hopefully this time the Rubric can be a reference for the readers, and I’ll see you in the next Racana Brawijaya Rubric
